In this podcast Shaykh Yusuf Philander speaks about the companion Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him). Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) was a young companion and was the son of the great companion Zubayr ibn Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him), who was given glad tiding to paradise during his lifetime. His Mother was Asma’ bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them). Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr was the first companion born from the muhajirin (migrants) from Makka. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) showed much love, care and concern for Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr early on in his life. Abdullah ibn al-Zuabyr was known to be someone who was attached to Islam, and attached to worship. Shaykh Yusuf demonstrates this by speaking about the prayer of Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr who would cut himself off from all that was around while praying, no matter what it was.
