In this episode, Shaykh Sadullah Khan reflects on the narrative of Prophet Shu’ayb who warned his people not to cheat and exploit others in business dealings. Due to his constant warnings, his people started to resent him and his message. He called them to act truthfully and equitably in all of their daily activities, however, they continued to deny his warnings until they were punished by God. Shaykh Sadullah asks us to reflect on the lessons in this Qur’anic story and how we can implement the Prophetic values of justice, honesty and fairness in our lives. The best way to honor the Qur’an and the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and salutations be upon him) is to implement the injunctions of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Let us remember that actions always have consequences.
