Despite Hud’s efforts to make his people show appreciation for the blessings of Allah through iman and good deeds, they continued their arrogant refusal. The conflict intensified to such a degree that they challenged him to make the punishment of Allah come down on them. So, it did. They were destroyed in a manner that suited their arrogant attitude, only to be replaced by Thamud as the dominant civilization in Arabia.
