Lut was faced with a difficult challenge: that of changing the perspective of a group of people whose fitra had been corrupted. They saw the good as bad, and the vile as being pure. They also robbed people traveling the highways, threatening the lifelines of cities. When they refused to see the error of their ways they were punished for their rebellion.
