In this episode, Shaykh Faraz explains the forty-seventh, forty-eighth and fiftieth hadiths from the Chapter on Matters That Soften the Heart from the hadith compilation, Mishkat al-Masabih, compiled by Muḥammad ibn Abdullah Khatib al-Tabrizi (d. 741 AH). The forty-seventh hadith informs us about one of the signs of Allah allowing a servant to go astray. That sign is the servant being granted what they want in this world despite them being engaged in sin. The forty-eighth hadith highlights the responsibility that comes with wealth. Everyone will be asked about the wealth they were granted in this life and how it was spent. The fiftieth hadith gives us guidance regarding successfully surpass the difficult obstacle of the Day of Judgement. The advice is to travel light. Meaning to not be “weighed down” by many possessions in this world that you will be held responsible regarding.
