In the Spiritual Counsel podcast, SeekersGuidance founder Shaykh Faraz Rabbani covers great texts from the rich Islamic spiritual tradition on how to turn to Allah, to cultivate spiritual presence, acquire Prophetic character, and attain true virtue.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a tremendous amount of importance to the health of our hearts. Shaykh Faraz Rabbani continues reading and explaining Taj Al- Arus ( The Refinement of Souls) by Imam Ibn ‘Ata Illah al-Sakandari.
In this podcast, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani opens by describing how the one who repents attains all good, and the one who doesn’t repent misses out. He explains the critical nature of repentance for all servants.
The true servant is the one who knows the favors of Allah. The one who chooses to disobey Allah doesn’t know His favors. The knowing that counts is the knowledge that is reflective of how one acts. Shaykh Faraz explains how the lower self calls one to ruin, and the true heart calls to right guidance.
He ends by explaining who the smart person is. This is the person who takes one’s self to account, has true hope in Allah, and acts accordingly.
